The sanitary facilities are clean, but absolutely outdated, the fittings have verdigris.BUT :Why do we keep coming back to this café?The cake, the fresh coffee and the friendly hospitality make up for a lot.The boss himself stands behind the cake display and receives the guest. Fur noses are offered treats.We decided on a piece of Sacher cake. A real hit there.So if you value cake and hospitality more than inventory, you are in good hands here.

There is a star deduction for the sanitary facilities because the design of the washbasin looked uninviting. It is totally calcified and therefore looks dirty. The coffee was not edible. The ordered cappuccino was cream. The requested order for breakfast was not available. Service staff was with three! occupied tables overwhelmed.

Upon entering, there is an unpleasant smell of cold smoke (presumably contaminated waste from previous decades). Cakes were average, but not overwhelming. I have ordered an Earl Gray for the cake, which was confirmed in the wording of the operation as if that was not a problem. Then I got a green tea. After complaining, I learn that anyway there is no Earl Gray (which is already strange for a cafe anyway), but only Darjeeling. In her opinion, that would not be so bad, because you would hardly taste any difference (!) That does not explain the green tea, but shows the excessive demand, lack of quality and customer orientation quite clearly. Afterwards, the staff also blabbed audibly over the guests, because I had dared to contradict them. Conclusion: if you are looking for atmosphere and pub mentality and quality in the 70s, then you are in good hands here. I expect something different from a cafe.

The breakfast is acceptable. You get buns u. Cold cuts handed in at no extra charge. The service is really slow, but I'm in Pfronten on vacation and not on the run. It does not matter to me for a quarter of an hour.

My first stop on holiday for 20 years, please stay that way, it's like coming home.
